WebTegrity & Happy Joe!
As most of you know – Rusty Postell (one of our owners) is a military veteran. He served in the Navy during Vietnam & the Cuban Crisis. We’ve also been blessed to have a few military members as interns and team members over the years. If you live in San Antonio you can’t help but know someone who is in the military. Our city has four premier military installations – Brooks City-Base, Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Air Force Base. So there’s no wonder why we want to help veterans and military spouses learn about our industry and WordPress.
This past month I was able to attend WordCamp San Francisco with our lead developer, Wayne McWilliams. During all of the amazing networking there we came across Happy Joe. Sarah Pressler & James Dalman are two of their team members who shared more about their mission and cause. It was incredible to see how well our business models aligned with the mutual cause of helping our veteran communities – Happy Joe in Oklahoma & even extending nationally – and us here in San Antonio.
This was perfect timing – as I was just booked to be speaking at the first ever V-Wise National Conference held here in San Antonio Nov 1 – 3. I was able to teach SEO & WordPress to just about 150 of the 300 female veteran entrepreneurs in attendance. Both of these encounters seemed to spur on the idea of “How do we get the word out there to veterans nationwide – that we’re available to help train them on WordPress and the Online Marketing industry?”
The natural answer seemed to point back to Happy Joe…
We wanted to do more than just network with James’ team. So for our giveback this year to veterans – we have decided to sponsor Happy Joe as one of their Charlie Team members. Before we knew it – James and his wife Donetta drove down from Oklahoma to San Antonio over Veterans Day holiday and came for a visit. WOW! We were so excited to meet these two and learn even more how to network & grow our reach in this cause.
As you can see – the network love is mutual just like our mission – Help Veterans & Build the WordPress Community.
